Job Summary:
Body Technician Helper assists the Body Technician in performing collision repair work on cars, trucks and other motor vehicles, with a focus on quality, timeliness and safety.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Assist in Disassembly of vehicle in order to identify damaged components
- Assists in Repairing/Replacing damaged body components as identified
- Grind, file, sand, weld, cut, etc...
- Assist with thoroughly inspecting and testing repaired vehicles to ensure all necessary repairs are complete per manufacturer safety repair specifications and vehicle is ready for paint
- Comply with all TCC’s safety standards, quality repair guidelines and procedures
- Perform other related duties as assigned relating to, but not limited to washing cars, cleaning the shop, etc.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of auto body repair techniques
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with computer diagnostic equipment and software
- Ability to read service and repair manuals
- Ability to perform safe and complete repairs in a timely fashion
- Ability to read and interpret repair orders
- Must be 18 years or older
Education and Experience:
- I-CAR certified preferred
- Three years of related experience
Pysical Requirements:
- Must be able to work safely in a noisy area with many odors present.
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. regularly.
- Must be able to inspect the vehicle to determine repairs needed.
- Good vision to inspect repair work.
- Must be able to bend, stretch, kneel, and squat to perform repairs and inspections.
- Must be able to reach below and above shoulder level.
